OUR MISSION: We are called, gathered and sent to be a people living, loving and serving as Jesus did so that all may know Him. Hosanna Lutheran Church Visioning Results Through study and reflection of Hosanna’s vision, mission, history and information profiles, five “dreams” (ideal visions of the future) were created. The dreams are listed below in order of priority given them by the congregation on feedback forms.
The Hosanna family, as all families, seeks financial stability in order to fulfill our dreams. It is the foundation and driving force of all that we as a community in Christ hope to accomplish. Our vision of financial stability includes accountable leadership, clear reporting, open communication and realistic budgeting. The time talent and treasure you share by being a part of Hosanna, will enable us to move forward with all of our dreams. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Luke 12:34
One of Hosanna’s top priorities is to provide a high quality youth and family ministry. The congregation, staff and program participants will develop, facilitate and participate in well integrated children and youth programs targeted to the age specific needs and issues of youth birth through young adulthood. This ministry will include biblically based education, outreach and opportunity to serve and model God’s love for one another. Fun activities and events, provided in a caring environment, will ensure we are a welcoming place for “all” youth and their families to grow and develop. “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching.” (Hebrews10:25 – as painted on the wall of the Hosanna youth room) Key Bible verses: Luke 18:15-17; Proverbs 22:6; Jeremiah 1:4-8
Hosanna desires a strong commitment to community within our church family, our neighborhood and our world. Past commitments have included prison ministries, food shelf, Wednesday youth programs, Angel Ministry, participation in local community events, and overseas mission groups. Our future focus is to expand these ministries and be open to new programs or opportunities which will strengthen our internal community’s ability to serve, as Jesus did, both local and global needs. “This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.” II Corinthians 9:12
Our Hosanna community has the heart and desire to share and serve as Jesus did. They look forward to beautiful and spiritual singing and music along with a powerful and inspirational message from the Pastor. Hosanna Lutheran would like the music and the message to awaken their hearts and fill them with gladness as they go out into the community at large to share the good news of Jesus’ love. “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth not joyous song and sing praises!” Psalm 98:4
Hosanna members desire to have opportunities to volunteer in meaningful ways in and through the congregation. The priority of this dream among our members is witnessed by the fact that nearly half of the respondents to our feedback form expressed an interest in volunteering. Now is the time to draw on our member’s interests and provide the opportunities to be involved in mission, outreach, and programs at Hosanna. When volunteers are called on they take ownership in the mission of the congregation and their place in it. Our goal is to enlist, involve and recognize the key roles of volunteers in all aspects of the ministry and mission of Hosanna Lutheran Church. “But Jesus called them to him and said, ‘you know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones are tyrants over them. It will not be so among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you, must be your slave, just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and to give his life a ransom for many’” Matthew 20:25-28 |
